Dwight gave a face and rubbed the back of his head. Had be not been more than a few beers in, he would have been more thankful that Miguel had held back on the smack than annoyed at him.
"Right. Just anyone between me and those bullets usually gets caught in the crossfire. And Lizzie got the Trouble from me. And Helen died because her Trouble activated... a few weeks after trying to get in touch me again."
Dwight fiddled with the empty glass in his hands for a moment, the next string of words tumbling out unabated and still a bit raw.
