The weekend had been... interesting, to say the least. And the fallout from said weekend had been.. Well, not all that good really. He really shouldn't have expected anything different. Once again it just proved that a happily ever after was not in the cards for him.
Last night's binge at the bar with Summer was just one more bad choice to add to the list. Dwight sighed as he filled his coffee cup again, running a hand through his still wet hair. The long shower had helped some with the dull throbbing in his head, but he was still not feeling like doing much. Even the morning run had been cut short, much to Snoopy's displeasure.
"Sorry boy," he said to the pup who was looking at him oh so judgingly, tennis ball in his mouth, and a pitiful whimper to go with it. "I'll make it up to you later ok?"
It was then that Dwight noticed there was a missed call on his phone. Picking it up he frowned at the number shown on the screen. He didn't recognize it, but the area code was the same as the number his sister had given him a few weeks ago.
"Who would be calling me from Cleveland? And why?" he muttered as he picked up the phone and started listening to the message as he wandered over to the couch and sat down.
( ...this doesn't bode well )
