Fix & Clean- Saturday Post Hole

 So after more than two weeks in a hole, Dwight was feeling a bit more shell-shocked than he had been in quite some time. He had survived, somehow, and after a somewhat rough landing top side, and far too long adjusting to the overwhelming sensation of the sun, the wind, and well... everything really, he had made it back to his apartment. 

A long soaking shower helped a little, but nerves were still rattled and honestly still a bit shot. Taking a peak in the fridge, Dwight closed the door quickly, regretting it instantly as he made a mental note to get the fridge cleaned out as soon as possible. And he would need to restock too since there was no food in the place that was any good... damn it.

Flopping onto the bed he sighed, closing his eyes and relaxing or at least attempting to.

Miguel would be checking in. With food, because he knew what that fridge was likely to look like.

"Knock knock," he called as he actually knocked.

Dwight had been dozing in and out of restless... not really sleep.. but not really wakefulness either. Hearing the knock on the door he opened his eyes and sat up. Slowly staggering over, Dwight winced slightly as he opened the door and the light shone in.

"Miguel, hey," he said with a slight smile.

Miguel shook his head. "You look like crap." He lifted the plate he'd brought. "Burger?"

"You are brining food. So I will ignore that comment" Dwight said, a faint smirk on his face as he held the door open. "And that looks amazing by the way" he said taking the plate and walking to the table, collapsing into one of the chairs.

"Of course it's amazing; I made it." Miguel perched on the other chair. "Heard some of the others talking about the lack of fresh food down there, and I know everything here's probably bad now, so I thought I'd help out. Couldn't get raccoon meat, sorry."

"And it is appreciated very much" Dwight said. "And I would totally make every last one of those pests into tasty burgers!"

Dwight started in on the burger like a man who had been living on mostly junk food, beer, and not nearly enough water for at least the last week.

"That good, huh? If it's any consolation, I'm pretty sure Summer booted the leader into a nasty dimension."

Dwight paused for a moment and considered that and nodded. "Yeah that seems justified" he decided with a nod and started back on the burger.

"Sometime when all this is behind us, we need to exchange burger recipes. Unless this is some guarded secret family recipe."

Miguel snorted. "Nothing in my family is a closely guarded secret." As far as he knew. "My brother found out about the Spider-Man thing my first day out. I even told my ma, not that she believes me. I don't know that's really a recipe, though. Just getting good meat and cooking it right.

He paused. "And feeding it to someone who's been eating crap for a few weeks doesn't hurt."

Dwight wasn't going to argue. Not that he could if he wanted to. He was too busy enjoying the last of the burger.

"yeah... don't think I will be eating any doughnuts, chips, nachos or jerky for a while" he said, finishing up the last bite.

"Sounds like you had a great diet down there." Miguel made a face. "I guess at least there was food, but ugh."

'Yeah, food is food in a situation like that... but you do go into a survival mode of sorts." Dwight sighed slightly. "Food will be fine soon as I can get out and get some shopping done. It's the rest that is going to be a bit more complicated. I'm still constantly fighting with myself over the urge to lay down outside and soak up the sun for three days straight or to curl up in bed and not leave the house for a month."

"Simple solution: open your windows and move the bed under them," Miguel said. "Curl up in the sun. I'd keep to the three days, though. A month and you might have issues."

"You are a genius, Miguel" Dwight chuckled as he shrugged. "I mean, we already knew that you being you and all... but that's not a bad idea." Dwight leaned over and punched Miguel's shoulder and smirked. "Knew there was a reason to keep ya around."

Miguel rolled his eyes. "All my education, and it comes down to 'move the bed'. I thought you were keeping me around for my cooking."

"Eh you know you are worth keeping around for more than that." Dwight chuckled.

"Unlike me, whose been here two months barely and had to get rescued out of a hole!... And who is now allergic to sunlight" he added with a sigh, rubbing his still throbbing head.

"Join the club. Anyway, you've fixed some things, right? Probably more to do now, too."

Like Hannibal's shelves. Again.

"He yeah I got a feeling business is about to pick up big time" Dwight nodded in agreement. He also made a mental note to make sure Hannibal got those shelves done... again.... first thing. "All the more reason to get my rear in gear and get back on top of things huh?"

"Sooner than a month, yeah; I think you'll be forgiven a day or two, though. Just let them leave messages."

Dwight finished his drink and nodded. "Won't be too difficult when I've got good people checking in on me" he said giving Miguel a quick wink. "I know some people have bounced back to almost normal pretty quick. Granted the whole trapped in a hole business probably ranks low on the Fandom weirdness meter for most people."

"Honestly? Yeah, it kind of does," Miguel admitted. "Doesn't make it less stupid or crappy, but I've seen weirder."

"Well, I guess there is hope for me yet then huh?" Dwight quipped with a nod.

"There's almost always hope. Shock, have I turned into an optimist?" He made a face.

"Heh, maybe" Dwight said with a smirk. "But even as a tiny bit of an optimist you can still be good ole Miguel- as big of a moody and snarky smart ass as ever."

"Oh, good. I'd hate to ruin my reputation."

"Your secret is safe with me" Dwight quipped giving Miguel's shoulder a playful punch.
