Apartment Above Fix It Shop-Tuesday
Aug. 9th, 2022 06:07 am The weekend had been an eventful one and the added responsibility of watching a... friend.. business partner... that had suddenly transformed into a rabbit only added to the business. Especially considering rabbit!Amaya was determined to get into everything she possibly could. That included a pile of shavings and sawdust when she had made a mad dash downstairs the other day, the dust bunnies under the bed, the closet where he kept all the spare tools.
So whenever he looked around for the fluff ball and found her once again in his top dresser drawer, looking snug and comfy in his sock drawer, Dwight tried to remind himself that it was better she was nomming on his socks and not the electrical cords downstairs.
"Glad you are enjoying yourself there, Amaya" he said with a soft sight and playful mocking tone as he looked down at the rabbit and shook his head. "You are going to owe me quite a few new pairs of socks if this keeps up much longer!"

Date: 2022-08-09 10:25 am (UTC)Having been discovered there yet again, though, Amaya just chuffed a little and made the attempt to burrow herself into a little ball into the socks as if that would help her to suddenly go unnoticed, so she could nap in peace before finally tackling the daunting task of seeing just hoe hugh she could manuever around a bookcase before getting caught.

"But still... could you try and stay a bit more ground level? Would worry a little less about you ya know," Dwight pointed out as he reached down to give the admittedly adorable bunny a head rub.
"Though... I guess you taking a nap up here will make it easier to keep track of you for a bit at least huh?"

Date: 2022-08-09 11:03 am (UTC)Of course, there was only so deep one could go, inside a sock drawer.
Especially when one very suddenly went from perfectly sized for such places to very much...not.
Amaya's head found the side of the drawer first, and the rest of her...well, the rest of her had to force its way out of the space that was far less conducive to holding a fully grown adult ass woman as it was an adorable floppy-eared rabbit.
"Ahhh....zards."
As if the whole transformation process with these things weren't awkward enough, now Amaya had to deal with hers bursting through the constraints of the sock drawer and a good portion of Dwight's dresser, too, while she was at it.
Whether or not this was more awkward than the last time this happened, when she'd all but crushed Seivarden by transforming just as she was taking her down from a high shelf she'd managed to climb onto was....yet to be determined.
But, hey! Maybe Dwight would...barely notice a naked woman busting through one side of his dresser! It was Fandom! Stranger things did happen!
A former rabbit could hope, couldn't she?

Date: 2022-08-09 11:29 am (UTC)And no, there was no ignoring or overlooking the sudden appearance of a de-rabbited Amaya crashing through his dresser. In fact, it would take just a minute for a stunned Dwight to get a gasped "Amaya!" out as he sat on the edge of the bed.
A moment later as his brain clicked back into gear he reached over a grabbed the blanket off the bed.
"Sure know how to make a reappearance there," he said, adverting his eyes as he held out the blanket to her.

Date: 2022-08-09 11:44 am (UTC)But at least it wasn't anything Dwight hadn't seen before....the naked part, anyway, not so much the person bursting through a drawer part, at least she hoped that was the case, but she was more than grateful to reach over and take that blanket to drape around herself as a far better covering that wood splinters and scattered socks.
"Yeah, well," she commented, once the shock of it wore off a little, looking at the damage she'd done to the dresser in her bid for reclaiming her Amaya-shape again, and not just because that meant not looking at Dwight. "You are always looking for new projects. Guess I'm just doing what I can to help."

Date: 2022-08-09 12:10 pm (UTC)"Yeah, definitely helping me out with that..." Dwight said, still glancing away at that moment before slowly turning back to face Amaya, praying the embarrassed heat he felt on his face had subsided at least somewhat. "You... you ok?" he asked, finally able to look at her mostly straight on. "No serious scrapes or bumps we need to head to clinic over?"

Date: 2022-08-09 12:28 pm (UTC)The fact that she shifted a little and pulled that blanket around herself a little tighter was good evidence that it wasn't working too well. Funny how the blanket made her feel suddenly more awkward about the whole situation...
"Bumped my head pretty good," she admitted, which she felt went without saying, considering she'd bumped it good enough to break through wood.
Like, sure, she knew she was hard-headed, but come on!
"And it's always a bit...disorientating, going back to normal." Even without pieces of furniture getting in your way! "I think I'm alright, though I might need to check for splinters."

Date: 2022-08-09 01:06 pm (UTC)"I'll go... ummm... let me grab your things. They are still downstairs behind the counter." Right where he had put them when all this rabbit shenanigans had started.
"I'll... be right back" he said awkwardly as he headed for the door and downstairs to retrieve said items, taking the time to lecture himself for acting like an idiot again.
It wasnt like there was anything he hadn't seen before, and they were both grown ass adults.... they had moved on and everything that had happened between them was in the past. Right? Right. So... why did he have that weird feeling in his stomach again?
"Get it together dude," he muttered to himself as he looked behind the counter for said clothes he had gone to retrieve.

Date: 2022-08-09 01:20 pm (UTC)On second thought, the splinters were probably fine, she'd feel any if they were there, how about she pay more attention to the damage on the dresser rather than giving that brain body parts to focus on? Amaya shifted a little, finding a good way to wrap and tuck the blanket as a makeshift wrapping so she could free her hands for a better inspection.
Figuring out exactly how any of this had possibly even worked was a much better distraction, really.

Date: 2022-08-09 03:49 pm (UTC)"So ummm... we seem to have a bit of a issue..." he said as he held out several familiar looking items of clothing, that looked like they had when Amaya had left them laying on the floor. With the addition of a few chew holes and some torn pieces that rendered the items less suitable than the sheet Amaya was currently wrapped in.
"Seems Snoopy got a hold of them at some point... sorry," he said with a sheepish shrug.

Date: 2022-08-09 04:01 pm (UTC)"Great," she found herself muttering before she could think better of it, "just what I need. More wardrobe gaps."
Not that she didn't have several more of pretty much the same outfit on hand, but still.
And then:
"At least all I was gnawing through were socks."

Date: 2022-08-09 04:40 pm (UTC)Which wasn't doing a very good job of maintaining itself at the moment, anyway, she was discovering, with her poor attempts to adjust it back into place being not nearly as subtle as she'd have hoped.

Date: 2022-08-09 06:14 pm (UTC)He held them out, and tuned away slightly. "You.. you know where the bathroom is" he said somewhat awkwardly because, of course she did.

Date: 2022-08-09 06:27 pm (UTC)"Right," said Amaya, adjusting the blanket one more time before getting up from beside the dresser to go grab the offered clothes, before making her careful retreat to go change. "Thanks."

Date: 2022-08-09 07:02 pm (UTC)"Right I'll... I'll be here then." He paused for a moment and called out as Amaya started off.
"Want any breakfast? Something other than carrots and lettuce?" he asked with a slight chuckle.

Date: 2022-08-09 07:22 pm (UTC)Dwight shook his head. Of course he had been silly to think she would be interested in sticking around. Hanging out meant talking. To him. And talking ran the risk of awkward topics coming up. A hasty retreat was probably for the best anyways, for both their sakes.

Date: 2022-08-09 07:43 pm (UTC)Followed immediately by the implication of what traipsing across the island from Dwight's place to hers, dripping in clothes obviously not her own, the entire way littered with squirrels.
There might be a necessary pit-stop next door to raid Diaz's closet first, but this ought to do well enough to get her that far.
The whole process of making herself halfway presentable took quite a bit longer than it probably should have, partly out of feeling like she had no idea what she was doing and the other half just convincing herself that it was fine, no awkwardness here, just your standard Fandom transformation operation, she'd be on her way, and that was that...
So it was with an awful lot of mustered-up confidence that Amaya finally emerged, all that excess cloth from Dwight's clothes haphazardly but smartly tied and tucked for a somewhat reasonable fit, with a bold declaration, clearly mentally rehearsed. "Well, then! That's that, I suppose! Wouldn't want to overstay my welcome any more than I have already, best be out of your hare," see? See? Everything was fine, there was even a pun!, "now, Dwight, much appreciated, sorry 'bout the dresser."

Date: 2022-08-09 08:37 pm (UTC)"I've been meaning to upgrade anyways. Now is as good a time as any really," he said with a somewhat forced grin. That was not a total lie, he had just not planned on it suddenly becoming a priority on the to-do list. "Long as you weren't hurt, that's all that matters."
Because it really was too much to ask for to have an honest conversation about anything not related to projects or business with a certain blacksmith wasn't it?

Date: 2022-08-09 08:55 pm (UTC)"Right as rain!" Amaya assured Dwight with a firm and confident nod. "Back to bipedal and properly shapes, give or take a few new bumps and bruises, but I'm sure I've had worse plenty of times before."
And then, an awkward pause, the sort that left a person wondering if just chucking oneself out a window was a bit too hasty of an exit.
"Well," Amaya tried, "thanks again. For...keeping an eye on me, keeping me out of trouble, and all. I'll definitely owe you one, Dwight."

Date: 2022-08-09 09:28 pm (UTC)And then, there really wasn't much else to say... it would only delay the inevitable and add to the awkwardness.

Date: 2022-08-09 10:29 pm (UTC)"I'm sure I'd have been able to fend alright for myself if I had to," she insisted staunchly, and, well...
...Best not think about how the island might decide to settle the score if they were leaving it up to that, so you'd better believe Amaya was now resolute in finding a way to at least sort of make it up to Dwight somehow before that happened.
"But," she allowed, figuring at least a small concession might be a good start on that, "it was probably a good thing I didn't have to."
A nod, and then a turn toward the door. "See ya around, Dwight."

Date: 2022-08-09 10:59 pm (UTC)He watched as Amaya gathered herself together and headed for the door.
"Don't be a stranger," he said simply as he started to turn his attention to the busted dresser.
